Hot Springs native Duran Crone, a former drummer for the Music Mountain Jamboree Show, made his inaugural appearance at the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Auditorium earlier this month.

Crone currently plays for The Steel Woods, a Nashville-based Southern rock music group, a news release said.

Born and raised in Hot Springs, Crone got his musical start at the age of 3 at his family’s entertainment show. Started by his grandfather, Ted Mullenix, in 1983, the Music Mountain Jamboree Show was Hot Springs’ number one music and comedy stage show, attracting visitors from all over the U.S., the release said.

Following the show’s closure in 2008, Crone moved to Nashville. Since then, he has toured with multiple recording artists, including Johnny T.; Trick Pony; Heidi Newfield; Presley and Taylor; and The Steel Woods. He has received endorsements from WFLIII Drums USA and Zildjian.
