As with many of the shrines in the Eldin region of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players will be required to venture into a fiery cave to find what they seek. The Momosik Shrine is no different: challenging Link to retrieve a glowing crystal from a molten cave in the middle of the Death Caldera.

Players will begin “The Death Caldera Crystal” shrine quest once the shrine has been activated and the tether created.

The green beam will appear to disappear into the side of Death Mountain, but as players approach the area, they will notice the mouth of a cave to the right of where the beam ends.

There are several Rock Octoroks in the area outside the cave that will pester Link as he attempts to enter. The path is blocked by a wall of blue breakable rocks that require more force than usual to destroy. Players can use explosives or steadily smash their way through with weapons. Rocks and claymores can be found in the rubble if players need to create more hammers.

On the other side of the rock wall, players will find the Death Mountain East Tunnel. This volcanic cavern features extreme heat, so players will need to come prepared with Fireproof Elixirs or the Flamebreaker Armor to avoid bursting into flames. Players should also avoid using Bomb Flowers while in the cave, as they will detonate as soon as they are taken out of Link’s inventory.

Using the materials in the surrounding area, players should attach a fan to one of the mine carts and ride it to the other end of the track.

At the other end, players will find the crystal lodged in a mound of volcanic rock.

On closer inspection, an Igneo Talus will reveal itself and attack Link. He will need to defeat this Talus in order to claim the crystal.

With quick reflexes, players can use Recall to stop the boulder fists that the Talus throws and send them back toward it. This will cause the Igneo Talus to drop and fall over.

When climbing on top to do damage to the weak spot (in this case, the shrine crystal), make sure to extinguish the heat coming off the Talus’ body, as Link will catch on fire.

Players can use either water or ice effects, such as shooting an arrow fused with a Splash Fruit or Ice Fruit, to extinguish the Igneo Talus.

Link will only have a few moments to do damage to the Igneo Talus before it throws him off and attempts to reignite.

When it is finally defeated, the Igneo Talus will drop the shrine crystal as well as an Igneo Talus Heart and several valuable gems.

Players can attach the crystal to their mine cart or any of the ones on the ground nearby and exit the cave. They should then remove the crystal and transport it to the shrine to complete the quest.

Rauru’s Blessing inside will grant players a free Light of Blessing and provide a chest containing a Big Battery.
