Blackpink’s Lisa’s first impression of Jennie

Blackpink‘s Jennie turns 27 today! Despite being so young, the star has become an icon across the globe. From being an idol’s idol to a highly decorated brand ambassador, the rapper has clearly earned the title of ‘Global IT Girl!’ However, while she might be looked up to now, Jennie has had a fair share of time as a trainee. And while many found her intimidating, fellow bandmate Lisa had a lot more to say about the now Chanel ambassador.

Lisa’s first impression of Jennie

From the aura she emanated to the skills she possessed, Jennie seemed intimidating to many new trainees. However, fellow bandmate Lisa had quite a different experience. Recalling her first meeting with each member of Blackpink during the training process, Lisa said, “I met Jennie first, and then after that, I met Jisoo and Rosie.”

Regarding her first impression of Jennie, Blackpink’s maknae said the rapper was actually quite friendly. “I remember Jennie was the only one who said hi to me in English… We were super close,” Lisa shared. Looks like Jennie’s cool aura seemed to be hiding her fun-loving nature!

Jennie’s professional life

Currently in the middle of Blackpink’s Born Pink World Tour, Jennie has wowed fans across Seoul, American and European. Continuing to do so across South East Asia, the group will next be heading to Japan and then Australia. Additionally, Blackpink will be headlining Coachella 2023’s Day 2, making them the first K-Pop group to achieve this feat.

Aside from group activities, the rapper has a lot of solo projects lined up too! She set to make her acting debut under the stage name Jennie Ruby Jane in the HBO television series The Idol, the star expressed her desire to show fans a more personal side. “I’m still discovering my own color. I love vocals, rap, and dance. I can contain all of that in a single song. I have that diversity. Jennie in Blackpink has a limited image, but I have so many other things I like,” she said in an interview with Rolling Stone.
