FHP: Man killed by hit-and-run driver in Sumter County

Florida Highway Patrol is looking for the driver in a fatal hit-and-run that happened overnight in Sumter County.FHP said the crash happened sometime Friday night or Saturday morning on US-301 south of County Road 102 when a vehicle heading southbound hit a man walking in the roadway. The crash happened just over the Sumter-Marion County line inside Sumter County.The 63-year-old Lake Mary man was killed in the crash. He was discovered in the center median of the roadway around 8 a.m. Saturday.FHP believes the vehicle involved to be a 1992-97 Ford Bronco or F-Series pickup truck but does not know the vehicle’s color.
