LOUISVILLE — Kentucky Science Center guests will soon have a new hands-on exhibit to explore during their visit. Uniquely Human, the Science Center’s first new permanent exhibit since 2020, opens to the public later this month. The exhibit was designed and fabricated in cooperation with Roto Group and encompasses 6,000 square feet in the Science Center’s 3rd Floor Main and Breakthrough Galleries. Uniquely Human offers over 20 interactive experiences designed to help guests explore the intersection of health and humanity and consider how those connections shape who we are, how we think, and what we feel.

Developed over four years in conjunction with the Kentucky Science Center Young Adult Content Committee, Uniquely Human is designed specifically for ages 12-25. The exhibit encourages guests to examine how their assumptions, biases, and perspectives influence how they see themselves, both as individuals and within the larger community. Emphasizing the importance of mental and emotional health, Uniquely Human hopes to encourage teens and young adults to become the aware, inclusive, and collaborative problem-solvers they have the potential to be.
