He used her powers as a tool for the expansion of Eldia, and as a weapon against his biggest rival, the kingdom of Marley.
In order to keep the power of Ymir’s Founding Titan within the control of his bloodline, he forced his three daughters, Rose, Maria, and Sheena to feed on the corpse of their mother, Ymir. Thus, the power of the Titans remained with the Fritz family and they continued to use it to maintain their rule over the world.
Many decades after the death of Ymir, the 145th king of Eldia, also a member of the Fritz bloodline, decided to give up the power the Fritzs had over the world by erasing humanity’s memories and moving the people of Eldia to Paradis, the walled island where the protagonists of the anime reside. The Fritz family eventually changed their identities while on Paradis, still wielding great power but ruling while hidden under the new name of Reiss.
1 The Jaeger Family
The Jaeger family is arguably the most prominent and complex family in Attack on Titan. The family is known for producing some of the greatest soldiers in the history of the series, including Eren Jaeger and his father, Grisha Jaeger. Grisha once belonged to the Eldian Restorationists, an organization of Eldians that aimed to topple the oppressive Marleyan government. Grisha was eventually transformed into a Titan by Marleyan officials and sent to Paradis after his reckless actions caused the massacre of his family.
Eren Jaeger, the protagonist of the series, inherited the Attack Titan from his father, which granted him incredible strength and regeneration abilities.
