OPEN HOUSE: The Upton Association will host an open house with local artisans and demonstrations from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the historic home of Harriet Taylor Upton, 380 Mahoning Ave, in Warren. Linda Shevel of Three Sheep Gallery in Boardman will show guests how to use a spinning wheel and a small floor loom for weaving. Five members of the Lacers of the Lake will demonstrate the skills of making bobbin lace, netting, tatting, Teneriffe and buttons. Other local artisans will demonstrate knitting, crocheting, quilting, cross stitch and how to make rag rugs.

ASSOCIATION TO MEET: The Northeast Neighborhood Association will meet 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Grace United Methodist Church, Drexel Avenue, Warren, with guest speaker Franco Lucarelli, Warren water department director. The group also will hear from Lydia Wallas of Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership on green space at the site of the former St. Joseph Riverside Hospital.

EASTERSEALS AUCTION: Easterseals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties’ 18th annual Auction at Margaritaville will be 6 to 10 p.m. (doors open at 5:30) July 14, at St. Michael Family Life Center, 340 N. Broad St., Canfield.

WOMEN’S EVENT: The Warren Women’s Connection will host its monthly luncheon 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday at DiLucia’s Banquet Center, 2610 Elm Road NE, Warren. The theme is “Celebrate the U.S.A.” Bill Adams will have slides from Heyday Health. Music will be from Chiara Chambers. Speaker will be Terri Sevinski on “An Optimistic Pessimist.” The cost is $15, or $11 if you are a first-time guest. LIBRARY WELCOMES MILLINER: McKinley Memorial Library will welcome Timothy Milliner of Party Art Cafe and Studio in Niles, from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the McKinley Birthplace Home.

Milliner will teach participants of all skill levels how to create a colorful painting of a beach at sunset. Beginners are welcome. All supplies will be provided. Registration is required at 330-652-1704, Ext. 3.

BLOOD DRIVE: Harvest Point Church, 2121 Salt Springs Road, Warren, will host the American Red Cross Blood Drive noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Preregister by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or visiting Walk-ins are welcome.
